Active Saturday in Crikvenica – big asparagus omelette, Vespas and Classic Cars

On the Saturday, 7th of May, in the morning hours, the air in the centre of Crikvenica will be filled with the aroma of traditional asparagus omelette, prepared in a huge frying pan. The recipe for this delicious omelette is: about 30 kilos of asparagus, 1000 eggs, olive oil, onion, bacon and ham. Of course, there is also a secret ingredient, which you will discover while tasting it. We’ll spice it up a little by adding the traditional music performed by the “Klamaruša” music group.

That’s not nearly all what is expecting you, because on the same day some unusual and special visitors will come to the Stjepan Radić Square in Crikvenica. As a matter of fact, we made the reservation like this: morning for the scooters, and the afternoon for cars.

Novi Vinodolski Vespa Club organizes the event for the owners and fans of Vespa, an Italian brand of scooter. After the drive along the Vinodol valley, around the 11 am they will stop at the centre of Crikvenica. We will have an hour to enjoy watching these legendary scooters and some of the models are very rare.
Classic Cars will come “on stage” from 4 pm, because Crikvenica is the finish line of the 20th International Meeting “Oldtimer Auto Rally – Rijeka 2016”, organized by the Rijeka Oldtimer Club. These gorgeous cars start the meeting in Rijeka and we are lucky to have a chance to watch them for a while in the centre of Crikvenica.

The combination of good company, cooking in the open air, traditional music and beautiful rare Classic Cars & Vespas makes a great recipe for a relaxing spring weekend.
