Crikvenica is celebrating the days of the town

Crikvenica is celebrating the days of the town, from the 9th to th 17th of August 2014 all four places on the Riviera Crikvenica will be celebrating for a full week with a range of cultural, entertainment, sporting and other events.

The traditional two-day sailing regatta "Days of Crikvenica" will start on August 9th at 11 am. On the same day at 20:00 on the town swimming pool in Crikvenica water polo match will start, in which the forces meet water polo veterans from Crikvenica and Šilo. In the evening on August 10th an organized and guided night walks "Crikvenica pod misečinun" will take place. Cultural programm will offer exciting exhibitions, such as the exhibition "Kupači" at the City Gallery in Crikvenica (opening August 12 at 21 h), the promotion of a dictionary of chacavian dialect, Fishermen's Festival, Traditional nights and many other events. On the main celebration day a big nighttime procession in honor of the Assumption of Our Lady, patroness of Crikvenica will take place,and a concert of the music band "Baruffa" on Stjepan Radic Square ending with midnight fireworks.

Feast of the Assumption, August 15th, will start in the morning with the traditional 104th swimming marathon Silo - Crikvenica, one of the oldest marathon swimming in the Adriatic. At 19 h in the center of Crikvenica a Fisherman's Festival will beginn and at 21 h in the park in front of the Memorial house of Zvonko Car real treat - a movie time machine within which archival films and photographs depicting Crikvenica will be displayed.
