Carnival in Crikvenica

Crikvenica has a long carnival tradition: the first organised Carnival events in Crikvenica date back to 1895.
The ‘most cheerful season’ in Crikvenica in 2022 will last from 8 January until 2 March.
In addition to a packed entertainment programme for young and old, carnival in Crikvenica is also when local traditions and customs are presented. This includes making a straw effigy, the Mesopust, a scapegoat that is then convicted and burned, as well as the main and children’s carnival parades in the town centre.
