600 years of Crikvenica
In 2012, Crikvenica celebrates an important anniversary: 600 years since the name of the town was first mentioned in an official document, which was the basis for the future development of Crikvenica. To mark this important anniversary, we have prepared a wide range of interesting events, including: the production of a commemorative postmark; presentation of the Crikvenica folk costume and publication of a book on the topic; presentation of the "600 Years of Crikvenica" album (on the Frankopan family, Pauline monks, Juraj Julije Klović); Frankopan Cake Days; the opening of an exhibition about the Frankopans and Pauline monks in Crikvenica Town Museum; re-enactment of the donation of the monastery and church to the Pauline monks; the presentation of a dictionary of the local dialect; a two-day conference on the topic of the Frankopans and Pauline monks; and many other events. The central celebration marking 600 years of Crikvenica, Frankopan Days, will take place on 22 and 23 June, and will include a medieval fair and a presentation of dishes from the Frankopan era.
