Carnival in Crikvenica
Crikvenica, which has a long carnival tradition, is now counting down to the most cheerful time of the year.
This year’s programme begins on January 13th with a traditional afternoon carnival party in Matkovići featuring carnival groups from the Crikvenica Riviera and its surroundings. This will be a happy gathering with the sound of drums, accordion music, song and dance. In the evening, the keys of the town will be handed over to the representatives of the carnival groups. This will be accompanied by the raising of the carnival flag, announcing that carnival has officially started in Crikvenica!
A week later, on the afternoon of January 20th, the Duga Association for the Preservation of Folk Customs will host a costume party. On January 27th from 21:00, the centre of entertainment will be the Carnival Tent on Trg Stjepana Radića Square in Crikvenica, with performances by the bands Grooversi and Fortunal.
As every year, the carnival period will be rounded off by the Children’s and Grand Carnival Parades, which will take place on Sundan, January 28th. The Children’s Parade starts at 11:00 and the Grand Parade at 14:00. The celebration will then continue in the Carnival Tent with performances by the bands Koktelsi and Point.
At 16:00 on Saturday, February 3rd, there’s the Carnival darts tournament in the tent, followed in the evening hours by performances by the singer Jole and the band Trend.

For our youngest guests, we have prepared a tea party, raffle and entertainment activities on Sunday, February 4th.
